Alle meine Rezensionen ansehen Rezension bezieht sich auf: Uncle Tom's Cabin (Maxnotes Literature Guides) (Taschenbuch) i've often read about "Onkel Tom's Hütte" (that's the way it's called in Germany), and as I like reading books in English I decided to get some English classics. I had some problems with the old words used, but anyway it wasn't too difficult understanding the main story.
About the book itsself... The story starts a bit boring, explaining the life of oncle tom and his family, living with their good master. due to being in dept, the master has no choice but to sell tom, and as tom has always been a true and faithful servant and has a strong belief in god, he doesn't try to escape.
luckily he finds a nice new family and he takes care of a handsome, good-natured little girl called eva, who is like an angel on earth. little eva unfortunately gets very ill and dies, and so does her father who actually planned to free his servants and send tom home. eva's cruel, ignorant mother sells tom to a even more cruel master, where he has to work all day and finally dies, never loosing his belief in god and his mercy...
